In the question of international priority versus international economy, the answer can be quite surprising. Sometimes, the faster priority shipments can be less expensive than the slower economy shipments. International priority shipments have been eligible for higher incentives in the past than the international economy shipments. This made for a lower overall international priority rate. This fact is especially true with such items as envelopes and ?¢‚ǨÀúpack?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ shipments, which can have their own special international pricing programs.
Before you decide whether or not to ship internationally using the international priority, or the international economy shipping avenues, ask your sales representative for international net rates, and then compare the priority and economy rates to one another, in order to determine which shipping is the most cost effective alternative for your needs. In doing this, you will be able to see what your true cost is going to be, after all of the incentives and taking into consideration the minimum shipment rates. Make sure you ask if there are minimum shipment rates if you don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t see them posted, as they may not be listed on your pricing agreement.
Determining your import shipment rates into the United States can be a rather challenging venture. The list rates for import shipments are generally set by the country the product originated from and those costs can change literally at any time. In addition to this, the originating country can also set incentive ?¢‚ǨÀúcaps?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢. These caps override the incentives offered by the United States sales representative. For instance, if an originating country has a twenty percent incentive cap, this will then be the highest import incentive that you can receive. This is the case, even if the United States sales representative has informed you that you are eligible for a forty five percent incentive. It can be very confusing, however if you talk to someone that is familiar with the process, they can probably help talk you through it and make it more understandable.
