What “Reconditioned” Means for Wire Mesh Baskets at RDR

Every wire mesh basket RDR Steel Sales sells is reconditioned — the same standard that applies across our whole inventory.

What Reconditioned Means

Reconditioned means repaired if needed, and functioning as intended. Anything affecting structural integrity or usability — damaged mesh, a compromised weld, a collapsible-side hinge that doesn’t lock — gets addressed before a basket goes out.

What Reconditioned Doesn’t Mean

It doesn’t mean cosmetically like-new. Expect surface rust, scuffs, and dings on the frame — normal wear for equipment that’s spent its life in a plant or warehouse. These are industrial storage and shipping baskets, not display pieces. Function is guaranteed; a flawless finish isn’t.

What to Check on Arrival

• Mesh integrity — no holes, tears, or significant deformation in the wire mesh sides or floor. Small dents are cosmetic; punctures or gaps large enough to let product through are not.
• Frame and welds — corner posts and major welds should be sound, with no cracks or separation.
• Collapsible hinges (if applicable) — sides should fold and lock securely without excessive play.
• Base and runners — confirm the floor structure isn’t bent or separated from the frame, since that’s where forklift and load stress concentrate.

Surface rust and cosmetic marks are expected. Anything affecting structure, containment, or function is not — and shouldn’t have shipped that way.
